These pottery lessons are designed to be a fun activity for everyone, no matter your pottery making experience.  Each participant will receive professional, hands on instruction and explore several different techniques. This is an introductory class in clay. It is a great way to spend time with friends and family and everyone will certainly come away with a lot to be proud of. So come in and get your hands dirty!

What's included: 

  • Professional instructions on several techniques.

  • Each participant will make at least 3 or more of the following items: pinch pot, coil pot, slab tray, slab cup, small thrown pot

  • All materials and equipment such as clay, tools, aprons and many color choices 

  • Batton Clayworks will carefully handle your creations for the proper drying, glazing and firing processes. Pottery will be ready within 4 weeks of class date and we will notify you when ready for pick up or shipping.

Group Lessons:

$75/Person  (Minimum 2 people/lesson)

Our Group Lessons are for 2 or more people of your own choosing. Please contact Ann to create a date and time that is suitable for everyone. 828-275-7644 We prefer at least 24 hours notice.

Grab a few friends or your family and make some memories out of clay!  Perfect for clubs, birthdays, date nights, wedding, office parties... Groups of 2-3 may be combined with another small group.

Lessons include 2 hours of instruction + social time + a minimum of 3 items made per person.


Private Lessons:

$100 first hour ($75/hour after first lesson)

Private lessons are set up to be a series of one on one instruction, learning the details of pottery skills you are most interested in.  Students are allowed some time after each lesson for finishing and clean up.

 

Noteable information:

  • For ages 8 and up

  • You are welcome to bring snacks and beverages, with the understanding that any alcohol consumption must be age appropriate and responsible.

  • Full bathroom facilities on site.

  • Bring any favorite tools you may have, provided it is labeled and leaves with you. 

  • No foreign clay is to be brought into the studio.

  • We do not provide kiln use for any pottery made outside of our studio. 

  • Shipping is an additional charge of $20 per location.

  • Scheduling dates are normally Tue,Thu,Sat 10am, 1pm or 4pm

  • Groups of 2-3 may be combined

  • CANCELLATIONS: 

    Deposits are not refundable for cancellations made within 24 hours prior to class. Rescheduling within 3 months will save your deposit.
